Course registration is a mandatory step for all new and returning students and must be completed via Student Information System (OBS) of our university within a specific time period at the beginning of each term. Faculties and schools support students by providing continuous guidance throughout the registration process.
Tuition fees can be paid easily at the ATMs of the banks we have an agreement with by entering the student number.
Our university provides both online and in-person registration options. Students can complete their registration online anywhere in the world, but for in-person registration, they must visit their faculty, school or a registration center at the university. The University announces the list of required documents and additional details for the registration process on its homepage.
Each department determines the exam locations and dates, and publishes the schedule on their department websites at least 15 days before the exams.
Students must attend lectures, practical sessions, study activities, and exams as instructors determine. A minimum attendance of 70% is required for theoretical courses and 80% for practical courses. Students who fail to meet these requirements will be ineligible to take the end-of-semester or make-up exams. Instructors track attendance, which will be published in the student information system at least one week before end-of-semester exams.
Theoretical Education: In theoretical courses, instructors deliver lectures to students. Applied Education: In applied courses, students are expected to demonstrate the knowledge they have acquired in settings such as clinics, laboratories, and workshops.
Student certificates are issued by the relevant academic unit and the Department of Student Affairs upon request. Additionally, student certificates can be obtained through the e-government portal.
Military service deferment procedures for students are carried out by sharing the necessary data with the General Directorate of Military Service through the Higher Education Information System (YÖKSİS).
To pass a course, a student must receive a grade of at least DD. Grades AA, AB, BA, BB, BC, CB, and CC are considered unconditionally successful. Grades CD, DC, and DD are conditionally successful. In order for a student to pass a course with a CD, DC, or DD, their cumulative grade point average (GPA) must be at least 2.00.
There are many student communities within our university, each organizing various events and activities in coordination with relevant academic departments and the university administration. Students may join these communities if they wish, and are encouraged to actively participate in their activities.
Students at our university can take advantage of exchange programmes by applying—if they meet the necessary requirements—within the timeframe set by the call schedule. Applications are managed in coordination with the International Relations Office and relevant academic departments.
At our university, compulsory preparatory classes are offered in certain departments where education is conducted in a foreign language. In other departments, optional preparatory classes are available for undergraduates.
Our university's Disabled Student Unit works to support students with special needs by taking necessary measures and making appropriate arrangements to ensure they have equal access to learning opportunities.
Yozgat is located 210 km from the capital, Ankara, and 170 km from Kayseri. Transportation between our central campus and the city centre is provided by buses that run every 15 minutes. Additionally, the high-speed train reduces travel time between Ankara and Yozgat to just 50 minutes.
Many student dormitories affiliated with the Higher Education Credit and Dormitories Institution (KYK) serve students of our university. On Erdoğan Akdağ Campus and nearby areas, the following dormitories are available:
• Yozgat and Sürmeli Girls’ Dormitories, accommodating 2,200 students
• Kınalı Hasan Girls’ Dormitory, also with a capacity of 2,200 students
• Ahmet Efendi and Çamlık Boys’ Dormitories, with a combined capacity of 1,600 students
• A Boys’ dormitory near the campus for 500 students
• A Boys’ dormitory in Esentepe District for 750 students
All dormitories are equipped with central heating and bathrooms, and include social facilities to support students' extracurricular and social needs.
In addition to KYK dormitories, there are several private dormitories in the city. Students may also choose to rent apartments either in the city centre or near the campus
Yozgat Bozok University's Faculty of Tourism Practice Hotel is conveniently located in Yozgat city center, right on the Sivas-Ankara Highway. You'll find it across from the bus station and next to the city stadium, making it very easy to get to. Our hotel offers a total of 23 rooms with 39 beds. We have 7 double rooms, 4 twin rooms, 1 triple room, 6 single rooms, and 3 additional double rooms, plus a suite. Each room comes with 24-hour hot water, Wi-Fi, an LCD TV, a mini-fridge, a telephone, a hairdryer, and complimentary toiletries. Our cafeteria, which boasts a lovely view of Çamlık, serves a buffet breakfast to our guests on both weekdays and weekends. What's more, our hotel's services are open to everyone, whether you're visiting for public or private reasons."
Food services at our university are provided through contracted catering companies in cooperation with academic units. In addition to the canteens located within each unit, students also have access to cafeteria services across the campus, offering nutritious and affordable meals.
Health care services for students and staff are provided through the Medico-Social Centre, located in the Central Dining Hall Building on campus under the Department of Health, Culture and Sports. Services include Oral and Dental Health, Psychological Counselling and Guidance, and Family Medicine. Additionally, Yozgat offers a wide range of polyclinic services and is home to Türkiye’s first city hospital, as well as our University Research and Application Hospital, which is fully equipped to provide advanced medical care when needed.
Yes, students at our university can benefit from various scholarships, financial aid, and part-time work opportunities.State scholarships and student loans are offered through the Higher Education Credit and Dormitories Institution (KYK). Students apply directly to KYK, and the scholarship and loan amounts are determined annually by its General Directorate. In addition to government support, the Yozgat Bozok University Foundation also provides scholarships to students in financial need. The university further supports students by offering free meal assistance through the Department of Health, Culture and Sports. Our university also runs a Part-Time Student Programme, which allows students to work on campus in various departments. The terms and payment rates for this programme are set by the University’s Board of Directors at the beginning of each academic year.
Yozgat Bozok University offers rich library resources to support students and staff in their academic work. The Central Library houses around 44,000 printed books, while unit libraries hold an additional 25,000 volumes. In total, there are approximately 69,000 printed books, 600,000 e-books, 65,000 e-journals, 2,012 graduation theses, and 300 audio-visual materials in the university’s collection. All printed materials can be searched online, and—except for reference materials—are available for loan to students and staff. In addition, the university provides full access to its electronic resources (e-books and e-journals) both on and off campus.
Our university offers a wide range of cultural, sportive, and social activities coordinated by the Department of Health, Culture, and Sports. Students and staff have the opportunity to participate in trips to various regions across Turkey, promoting cultural exchange and exploration. We foster an innovative environment and support student clubs and societies in organizing events such as panels, conferences, symposiums, and concerts. Our Congress and Culture Centre, along with sports facilities including football fields, an indoor sports hall, an indoor tennis court, a fitness centre, and a kick-boxing hall, serve as venues for these activities. Every year, we host Sports and Spring Festivals where competitions take place in football, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, chess, badminton, and tennis. Awards are presented to top-performing schools and students. Concerts held during the spring festivals and graduation ceremonies are open to the public, helping students engage with the wider community. Additionally, our students participate annually in inter-university sports competitions organized by the University Sports Federation. Sports include football, futsal, basketball, volleyball, handball, table tennis, tennis, badminton, folklore, chess, and wrestling.
In addition to theoretical education, students at our university receive practical training in well-equipped laboratories. They have access to the necessary facilities and resources to carry out their research, projects, and studies.
